Privacy Policy

The Tasks Manager website is a static marketing site. It sets no tracking or advertising cookies, runs no web analytics, and does not fingerprint or profile you.

Like any site, it's served by a hosting provider (Cloudflare Pages) that may keep short-lived, standard server logs — such as requests and coarse IP-derived region — for security and delivery. We don't build these into profiles and don't combine them with any other data.

The Tasks Manager desktop app uses Aptabase, a privacy-friendly, open-source analytics tool, to collect anonymous usage statistics. This helps us understand how many people install the app and how often it's opened, so we can prioritise what to improve. It is not tied to your identity.

What's collected is limited to anonymous, aggregate signals: app version, operating system and version, device locale, device model/type, a coarse country or region (derived from your IP address, which is not stored), a randomly generated session identifier that resets over time, and a small set of events such as when the app is installed or launched (each tagged with its distribution channel — direct download or Mac App Store).

What is never collected: your name, email or any account (there are no accounts), and — most importantly — the contents of your tasks, projects, notes, findings or files. None of your actual work is ever sent anywhere.

Every space, project, task, note and attachment is stored in a local SQLite database and markdown files on your own machine. There is no cloud sync, no account and no server that holds your content. Uninstalling the app or deleting its data folder removes it for good — it was only ever on your device.

Password-locked projects are additionally sealed with a salted, hashed password on your machine, and are never enumerated or read by anything — including the app's own integrations.

Aptabase processes the anonymous app analytics described above on our behalf. The website's host (Cloudflare) delivers the site. Download installers are served from GitHub Releases; GitHub records an anonymous per-file download count. If you install from the Mac App Store, Apple's standard App Store analytics also apply. We don't sell or share personal data — there isn't any to sell.
